Best Marketing Resources In Raleigh, Durham and The Triangle

In 2013 Google named Durham, NC one of the seven major technology hubs in the United States. The area is home to Research Triangle Park, a high-tech, research and development park. Some of the most prominent biomedical and computer technology companies in the world have major headquarters there. Durham also has more than 500 startups employing hundreds of highly skilled workers. Due to its strong foothold in the medicine and biotechnology fields, eclectic and thriving downtown and affordable cost of living, the area is also experiencing an entrepreneurial boom.


In short, Durham is the right place for new business or for furthering your career. One of the major challenges for all businesses is marketing. The massive information overload brought on by social media and the digital age can make marketing an exciting adventure or a dizzying nightmare. Of course this is something that can be hired out.   1. Triangle Marketing Club Meetup: Every month TMC invites a respected marketing professional in the Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill area to speak and educate their members. Topics span a full range of digital and traditional marketing topics, such as trade show marketing and social selling. They typically meet in downtown Raleigh. TMC provides a fun networking friendly atmosphere for people at all levels in their career, from college intern up to CMO.  They also provide networking fuel in the form of a Triangle favorite; craft beer and appetizers!

  2. American Underground:  The American Underground has partnered with Google to offer events specifically for entrepreneurs and Startups. Those events include speakers and experts on SEO and other marketing related topics. AU is also a great place to network and learn from other marketing professionals.


  1. Triangle American Marketing Association: The Triangle AMA offers professional development and networking opportunities for marketing professionals. Each month they host a luncheon and invite speakers with real-world marketing experiences.They also host several conferences including High Five. Past speakers like Jeff Jones, former Chief Marketing Officer at Target (now Uber) and former Chief Customer Officer of NASCAR Brett Jewkes are just a few of the industry leaders that have come to share their knowledge.


  1. Internet Summit: This event compasses all facets of marketing to the digital customer. This digital strategies forum is hosted in Raleigh, NC. Past and current keynotes include Russell Simmons, CEO of Rush Communications and Ann Handley, Bestselling Author of Everybody Writes.
